Choosing Which Product to Promote

When you have decided to start a blog on a particular niche, it is important that you spend some time to do some research on which product to promote on your blog. Go to clickbank or paydotcom and find a product that people are actually looking for.

Do some keyword research to find out the actual keyword phases and the number of searches per month so you know that there is a demand for it. Also find out about the competition on this niche and who are your competitors.

Go for the search that have at least about 1,000 searches per month. You will have lesser competition and you can have more chance to target your audience using low search keyword phrases.

Right product to promote

There are many products to choose from so which one should you decide to promote. After you have those key phrases, find a popular product that people will want to buy. The best and profitable type of product you should target is digital information.

When choosing an affiliate program, there are 2 crucial points you must take note of. First find out if the product is of high quality. How do you know? The best way to know is actually purchasing the product yourself download it and check it out yourself.

The second most essential thing is to look at their sales copy. Is the sales pages professionally written? Ask yourself put yourself in your visitors' shoes, does it capture your attention, will you buy the product? If your answer is yes, then you should pick this affiliate product and promote it on your blog.

How to Choose a Blog Platform

How to decide on What type of blog platform to use? Which one is better for me? There is a choice of free Blogger.com and wordpress blog or having to pay to get a blog hosted and buying your own domain name?

What are the advantage and disadvantage of these two types of blog platform? I observe people starting out with having a free Blogger and upgrade it to Wordpress as they go. If you are a newbie on the net these will be the typical questions that you face and you have to make a decision to choose which is suitable for you.

It depends on you and how far you want to achieve. Well take a quick look at some of the top and successful bloggers on the net and the type of platform they are using and that will definitely give you a rough idea.

Deciding on a blog platform

Make a decision. Take your time to decide at first, you will find one blog platform that you want to stick on for a long time and not just having one for a few months. Ask yourself are you going to blog for long term or just for fun? It is for hobby where you feel like blogging and whenever you have the time or you are fully committed to put all your focus and effort into it.

If you choose to have your own domain instead of a free blog platform, choosing a domain name and installing wordpress blog involve some fee like hosting and some small fee for domain name. There will be extra costs if you wanted custom made design etc.

Most blog platforms have free templates but if you were to choose a special design template, you need someone which is good at design and installing it for you. If you are a newbie blogger, to begin try get some professional help along the way.

Another disadvantage of using free blog platform is that you own your own content but your blog is not own by you. You are not able to control for example if the website is down or for some reasons your blog is taken down or been 'slap' due to violation of terms and condition etc. You don't own the site.

For a newbie, when using Blogger.com blog you will later realise there are many limited options for customization. Blogger doesnt give the option for choosing categories and also if you want to improve on your blog you need to know CSS and HTML to work on. You may not need blog tools/metrics at this point but you might find it useful as you progress gradually.

The more you know the more you should share; the more friends you will have. Also be open to joint ventures and share your thoughts with them.

So Why Joint Ventures?

Many people are willing to work together to benefit each other. You can start joint ventures with those having the same niche or trade as you.

There are simple things you can actually start like:

- promote someone's product on your blog- do a link exchange
- interview your jv partner on your blog etc.
- be sincere and fulfill your promise which is very important

Who are Those You can Approach for JV

- people who are friendly and trust worthy
- same niche preferably
- those with long subscribers lists
- those who are willing to promote your product or your blog

However, there may be reason people rejects you.

- experienced webmaster who doesnt want to partner with a newbie
- he cant trust your credibility
- there's no benefit if he partners with you
- you dont have a list of subscribers

Think of the benefit that he can't refuse to a joint venture with you. So if you're starting the first joint venture attempt the first thing is not about what you'll benefit from the partnership. You'll be learning things along the way.

Advantage of a good joint endeavor
